tunes for your christmas eve!
easy monkey bread ; breakfast casserole ; a great christmas playlist
hello and merry christmas eve! i am a day late on this newsletter because i was hoping to get a photo of my gingerbread martini recipe last night but alas… still did not get one. such is life!
i’m curled up in the cozy chair at my parents house in front of the fire with the winter magnolia magazine and a happy baby playing on the floor next tp me. a pretty ideal christmas eve morning if you ask me!
what are your christmas eve traditions? most holiday traditions in our family revolve around food. we always have breakfast casserole on christmas morning and we usually do our big christmas meal on christmas eve night. that way we can just relax and snack and play games all day on christmas. it’s pretty great!
easy cinnamon monkey bread
this recipe could not be easier. all you need is a can of biscuits, butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
in a small pot over medium heat, melt about half a stick of butter. add in 1/4 cup of brown sugar and a few good shakes of cinnamon (maybe a tbsp or 2).
cut the individual biscuits into quarters, then arrange them in a muffin tin so they are clustered together. (see photo) pour the butter mixture on top and bake according to biscuit package directions.
bedford breakfast casserole
this is our christmas morning tradition, but we also make it all throughout the year when we have company. i also made a tray of this for a friend when she had a baby. it’s the perfect savory start to the day! find the recipe below:
a cushman christmas playlist
at christmas, we love to play the jazzy, cozy christmas tunes like ella fitzgerald, vince guaraldi, and beegie adair. our christmas spotify playlist is linked below. if you don’t have spotify, a great pandora playlist is “song radio: have yourself a merry little christmas by ella fitzgerald.”
i wish you all a magical, cozy, relaxing holiday full of good eats and good people and warmth and magic!
much love, lauren xo
